the weekend was magic fantastic.

so gafas decided to come visit me for the weekend. so i showed him around the central valley a little bit.

i became friends with gafas when i was 14 and we were both strange kids who had creative outlets and digged music... maybe nothing between us has evolved passed that... haha.
his real name is juan carlos, but the nickname gafas just stuck. although he no longer weres glasses. so im one of the very few that call him that.
when i first moved to visalia i wasn't all that impressed. i thought it was small town with nothing great. so for the last month or so, i've completely changed my aspect. now i think of visalia as small town america. when you give it a chance and look hard enough, you can see it sparkle.
its great.
so we had some adventures.
THURSDAY was a great day. i had school. the last day of the week. i hung out with sharon durring our breaks at the gazebo which, is where we almost always hang. and even chit chatted with george about veggie burgers and roller costers. the three of us talked much so that, i was cutting it close arriving to psychology. than after class i wrote and we hung out until she was outta class. we might take a soy candle making class, that'll be awesome.
gafas arrived very very late. chit chatted with me and with karen a he couched it at my house.
FRIDAY we went to the sequoia national park, so on our way up there we went through lemon cove and three rivers. very cute scenery.
the closer we were getting to the sequoias the more it rained. when we walked it was good.
perfect weather...(for me at least) when its cold. the air is chilly. cold enough to wear a jacket... but leaves your nose and cheek cold. and your bundled up. thats my favorite kinda weather.
we got back at 5ish and later i had to take amanda trick - or - treating... she enjoyed it. the baby was being looked after by my aunt who wanted to spend time with her.
after they got back we went to the wine bar called the Cellar Door... apparently, due to halloween, no live music. there was just a first time dj with not so good music and about 20ppl dancing. he asked if anyone had requests. it was so cheesy. but the wine was good. i like that places vibe.
SATURDAY we went to dt visalia. we just walked around for a bit. went into VELOURIA. the local record shop. after being in there i couldn't control myself. i bought two vinyls and a hendrix sticker. i bought a james taylor album and a rolling stones album. both worth it. i love james taylor now. hes so sweet and hes a guy. its magnificent. i especially love the song called Don't Be Sad 'Cause Your Sun Is Down; it's brilliant. We had to get back to my house at 1:45 because i had to look after my sisters. we basically did our own thing. he had homework and photo editing and watching movies and i was in my room listening to records. they came home and we went out again. we decided to go to this place called CAFE 210. it's really charming. and they have loose leaf tea... i wouldn't turn it down. maybe its the chinese in me that really diggs tea, its the best thing since sliced bread.
we than walked and we stopped at this place called VISALIA BREWING COMPANY, a little coffe place with live music. so we stopped in. we saw these innocent kids jamming. why wouldn't i support that, especially when he was playing JOHNNY CASH.
so after we were driving in the wrong direction to a bar and i said, hey. you wanna just go to fresno? he became totally stoked and we headed towards fresno and drank at this bar in the TOWER DISTRICT. it was cool. there was live music. and once you walked in there was art all over of the dia de los muertos skeletons. it was cute. and the band had a girl rockin' the flute. it was great. later she rocked the sax. he drank too much. i was just fine.
